Local Eateries

  1. CAFE 82

Local owner and host Dannii specialises in hearty homemade food with a wide variety of delicious vegan and veggie options to go alongside the traditionally Scottish more meaty choices. A great spot for an all-day breakfast, our favourite is the homemade baked beans and cheese on toast - to die for!

Pop into Cafe 82 for brunch or lunch before heading off to explore in the afternoon.

Opening Hours: Thursday- Sunday. 10:00-16:00 (Kitchen Closes 15:30)

2. FIDDLERS FOOD

We love this local spot as they offer a warm, family-owned eatery serving hearty comfort & pub fare alongside beer & whiskey drinks. When you visit Fiddlers Food you can expect good food served simply. From Salmon, beef or game, and Scottish dishes to delight you, your taste buds will thank you for the visit. Try their traditional and award-winning haggis (that famous beastie of the hills) or go for a hearty casserole to warm the belly on a cold autumn or spring evening. Visiting in summer? Go for a generous fresh salad or delicious steak which they char-grill for the best flavour.

This world-famous restaurant and whisky bar has a prominent position in the village and boasts an excellent outside area for the restaurant as well as a “food-truck” for more take-away style meals such as fish and chips. Not to be missed!

Opening Hours: Serving both lunch and dinner, but with seasonal opening (closed in winter).

3. LOCH NESS INN

A firm favourite of the Ancarraig Team, because the Loch Ness Inn was a welcome retreat after long days renovating the lodges in the depths of winter 2015/2016. Many a Belhaven Best and glass of red has been sunk here! The service is always top quality, as is the food, which is all locally sourced throughout the Highlands. The Inn has a bar just for drinks, and a restaurant if you fancy lunch or dinner. There’s also a lovely courtyard area if the weather is kind - listen for the babble of the river just behind the bunk house.

Opening Hours: 16:00 to 22:00 in the week and 12:00 to 22:00 at weekend

4. NESS DELI

Long standing friends of the Lodges, Lyn and Eddie are your hosts at the ever popular Ness Deli - a licensed bistro and deli right on the village green of Drumnadrochit. With bagpipes serenading you from the green in summer months and ice cream on tap, this is a casual breakfast and lunch spot not to be missed. Look out for the chef’s daily specials and the fantastic coffee - our favourite is the Dirty Chai Latte! It goes perfectly with their vast selection of tray bakes and cakes (but then so does a glass of their beautiful wine!) Open all year round, the Ness Deli is a favourite for tourists and locals alike, and a great place to watch the world go by.

Opening Hours: 9:30 to 16:30
