The Wood Hatch.

The Wood Hatch is our newly redesigned cosy cabin in the woods here at Ancarraig, and is named in homage to its creator, The Bearded Woodworker of Ardersier.

This 2 bedroom property with a vintage, rustic feel has an open-plan lounge/kitchen featuring a cosy log burner. There’s a stunning live edged dining table, snuggly sofa area with a flat screen TV, a well-equipped kitchen with conventional cooker and microwave as well as coffee beans and grinder for the cafetière, fridge with freezer compartment, and a bathroom with over bath shower.

You can’t help but fall in love with the driftwood light feature above your head, giving a warm cosy glow to those evenings spent enjoying this wee snug.

Outside you will find a private south facing veranda with further dining facilities.

This lodge sleeps 4 across one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. We doubt you’ll ever see another bedroom to match our twin; are you in a bedroom or an Army Camp, you decide!

Yes, a deposit of 50% is due at the time of booking with the balance due and charged 4 weeks before arrival. If your arrival is within 4 weeks, the whole sum will be charged at the time of booking.
In the past decade, our region has experienced a remarkable transformation in mobile connectivity, transitioning from minimal signal coverage to the lightning-fast 4G and 5G speeds. We are delighted to share that EE and Three mobile are the top providers in our area, both offering exceptional 4G coverage. While other networks also provide good phone signal, their internet connectivity can sometimes be less consistent.

We understand that plans can change, and we strive to accommodate those changes as best as we can. If you need to cancel more than 4 weeks before your arrival, we'll charge a small 10% cancellation admin fee and refund the remainder of your 50% deposit.
For cancellations within 30 days of arrival, the full amount is due unless we're able to resell the dates.
4G Wi-Fi is provided free of charge, however when many people are trying to share the same line it can be very slow and it can be heavily influenced by the weather and/or if the line of sight is interrupted - eg on windy days when the swaying trees interfere with the signal.
Please do not book Ancarraig with expectations of super fast broadband - sadly we do not have it here in the hills above Loch Ness.
Our lodges do not have hot tubs, as we focus on providing a retreat centred around relaxation and a connection with nature rather than luxury amenities. The tranquil woodland setting, cosy interiors, and stunning views offer a peaceful escape for our guests, perfect for unwinding and enjoying the simple pleasures of life.
